The Barlick Snow Globe Now, for those of you who know - we affectionately think of the home of Hope as being somewhat of a 'bubble' - (if you don't know... speak to a Barlicker!) and at this time of year we could be mistaken for thinking that we are actually one of those tacky Snow Globes we've all had at one time or another, you know - the one's you shake a snowy scene to life with!... and here's the proof!.....(click for snow)

NEW! Road wheels More new product! The road wheels range (as well as the MTB) is growing. See the new additions.......here

NEW! Race brake Now you may have already seen this on various sites from the recent Eurobike show in Germany. The new Race master cylinder and lightweight X2 caliper will be available November this year.

Superseeding the long serving Mini master cylinder and running alongside the Tech lever, the Race brake is aimed at XC racers and trail riders looking for the lightest brakes around. With an all in weight of 275g (dependant on mount and rotor size) the brake is right up there - with the added benefit that we've not reduced any of the performance when losing the weight.

The brake will have a new carbon top cap and lever, alu bolts (and Ti) aluminium pad back plates and some serious machine time to sculpt away the grammes. Check out the pic........here

20th Anniversary magazine

Now, we're a bit behind on this one - but you may have seen this brochure at events and shows already - but if not here it is as a PDF. It's not all products and spiel! Promise! br> .....click here to see the mag

CRC - Intense Factory visit

The CRC-Intense team paid us a visit recently whilst in the UK. They got a chance to see how their brakes are made and exactly what goes into a pair of brakes. The team riders use the Tech V2 brakes with 203mm rotors all round in a custom blue colour to match the Intense bikes. Everyone seemed to be inpressed with what they saw, especially the laser etching at the end!!

Hope Endurance Downhill - Fort William This year we had three riders competing, including the one of the owners. Unfortunatly he had a tyre issue and had to pull out from 6th position. Dart in sales finished 9th and Jonny who builds all the hubs finished 3rd in the Vets. See video of the race here (watch for Darts "awesome" interview at the end).

NICKED!!!! After a fabulous week at the TT, tea drinker supreme - Guy Martin, has had most of his stable of bikes thieved from his workshop over the weekend. If anyone has any info regarding them or their recovery, please let us know.... There was an Orange 224 GBR, a carbon Scott Ransom (with Team Green bits on - the one from the Hope catalogue), an Orange Hitman in white and a Scott Scale 70. (I'll get some pics of them ASAP)

Product Testing.... Ever wondered how the mags actually test products?... well here's a nice pic that proves that some do actually ride the stuff that we send them, and that 'designed, made and tested in Barnoldswick' (oop North) is actually worth something (we like our stuff to last more than a couple of months.... LIQUID NITROGEN CRYOCYL TANK - It's like something out of Doctor Who!

This is the Liquid Nitrogen tank which feeds the new Laser cutter (to cut disc rotors and floating centres amongst other things) The temperature inside the tank is -196 deg C! which keeps the 2000 litres of liquid nitrogen in it's sci-fi state.

When pumped through to the machine (some 50 metres away) the liquid is turned into gas through an integral vaporiser which means those 2000 litres are good for 1,368,000 litres of gas for cutting! That might sound like an awful lot - but with the machine running over 20 hours day the tank is replenished every 2 weeks. The tank is outside right next to the picnic tables used for lunch - roll on summer and outdoor air-con!
