The Hoops wheel range is growing. Since the introduction of our own wheel building facility at our Barnoldswick Factory, we are now able to produce a wider range of wheels than ever before. As well as the mountain bike versions we have a complete series of Road specific wheels. All are handlaced, trued and tensioned (the carbons are fully handbuilt)and offer you, the end user a choice of rim and price point - with the reliability and backup of the legendary hubs. This is the new carbon tub wheel. Straight pull hub design, Sapim CX Ray spokes, stainless bearings, alloy freehub, 4 pawl ratchet, 24/20 hole drilling, 646g front and 810g rear. RRP £950 for a pair.
and this is the clincher version of the above. All the same specs but with the clincher rim it comes in at 933g front and 1083g rear. £900 per pair.
We've also introduced a new hub and 30mm aero section rim. This is ideal for biggger/heavier riders or those looking for something a bit more robust for our great British back roads. Still using 24/20 hole pattern to keep the weight down, the aero rim increases the stiffness of the wheel as well as (for some) enhancing it's appearence. Weights are 695g front and 867 rear and the RRP will be £350 per pair.
and a tweak in the exisitng range is the ever popular Mono wheel. We've now built this wheel with the benchmark Mavic Open Pro rim, Sapim Sprint spokes and brass nipples. The wheels spin on the super reliable Mono hubs - complete with stainless bearings and the proven ratchet system. This makes this a perfect wheel for winter training/commuting and generally abusing! Weights are a svelte 782g front and 915g rear with an RRP of £300.
All wheels are available with a Shimano or Campag freehub body option and the Open Pro's are available now. The others sometime through November.
