If you are having any sort of compatibility issues with shifters and levers - check where you have the levers mounted. If you are fitting them in the same place as your old one's - it probably won't work! The levers have to be inboard of the shifter (close to the centre of the bar) IT'S NOT WRONG, JUST DIFFERENT!
We've done a few pics of shifters in situ on our own bikes to show how we mount them. It may sound simple, but a good tip is to mount your shifter first in a position that you are happy with, and then mount the brake lever afterwards.
There will be times when some shifters or set ups simply don't work - and we can't account for that. We test them with all the current and recent shifters and make them as compatible as they can be, however with shifters changing more quickly than our product does, it's sometimes hard to keep up! The most common shifters used though do fit well and are all pictured below.

Tech lever with NEW direct shifter mount (due shortly) - NOTE the position of the shifter in relation to the grip and compare to the next picture.

.....the Tech lever with Sram XO shifter mounted in the same place as it would be with the direct mount. (this shifter sits like X9 and X7 as well)

......this time with Shimano XT (with the optical displays removed)

.....and with XTR
